Continuing Type A's interest in the presentation of achievement and triumph, Cheer examines the dynamics of team spirit by documenting the performance of cheers specifically created for Type A by the Phillips Academy spirit teams, SLAM and Blue Key Society. Transferring the art of cheering from one team (Andover) to another (Type A), Cheer is at once absurdly self-congratulatory and a serious look at the propulsive drive and transcendent power made possible through teamwork.

Completed while in residency at the Addison Gallery of American Art in Andover, MA, Cheer is an especially fitting project to undertake while on the Philips Academy campus where the uniforms of Slam and Blue Keys feature a large "A" on front.
